I want to spend a little time on what I consider to be the absolute most important tool that any online marketer cannot do without. And I do mean any online marketer. I don’t care if you are a straight affiliate or a program owner or what you do to make money online (or even offline for that matter) you MUST HAVE an auto responder service. And it better be a professional one with all the bells and whistles, not some fly by night cheapo service that shows ads to your subscribers or worse yet, your own personal list of prospects you build by replying to emails!
So let me explain why I say this (and it’s not an opinion, IT’S A FACT!) by answering some common questions and excuses I hear all the time. That way maybe I can save a few floundering marketers and turn them into successful entrepreneurs.
- What’s the big deal about a professional auto-responder?
I know you’ve heard it before….but, it bears repeating until it’s the first thought that pops into your head every time you log into your computer…THE MONEY IS IN THE LIST. What does that mean? Well, it’s actually quite simple. Every time you send a visitor to your offer and you don’t capture their email address you are wasting time, money, effort, and the ability to follow up. In other words, it’s a crap shoot. I don’t care how engaging your ad is, or how many visitors you can generate, you are leaving thousands of dollars on the table if you can’t get them to give you their email so that you can do one of two things.
-Sell them on the original offer because they either wanted more info or they wanted to think about it or
-Sell them something else over and over again.
And this applies to everyone. How many rewards cards do you have in your wallet or purse, right now? Hell, even gas stations are competing for your repeat business. What is the very first thing they want from you in order to give you that stupid rewards card that you always forget to use anyway…that’s right, your email. That’s so they can send you emails and keep their business on your mind at all times.
- Why do I need it?
Because you want to make more money. End of discussion. If you take just a moment and think you wouldn’t even ask this question ever again. I’m serious. If you want to double your income online in short order, then get an auto responder right now.
- What does it do for me?
It automates everything you are doing right now. Do you use safe lists? If you track your results, take just a moment and go see what the absolute top performing safe list is for you. What’s the CTR? Is it 1 percent? 2.5? Whatever it is, your own list will perform at least 6 times better! Why? Because they want to hear what you are saying. They took the time to sign up to your list because they wanted to hear what you have to offer. So, having an auto responder will save you countless hours and make you tons more money.
- Why can’t I just send people to my offer and track my results?
Sigh…..You can. If you are happy with your results. Then keep doing what you are doing. Seriously though, traffic and tracking is awesome. But putting it to better use by building your own list is at least 6 times better. Think of it like this. Traffic is blood. It’s like a TV ad for a brick and mortar business. Tracking is important too. But it’s only telling you where your visitors are coming from or what ad is performing best. Your own list with an auto responder service is your entire business. It’s your CUSTOMERS! Get it? I mean seriously, don’t you want them to come back? What if they don’t buy a widget today, wouldn’t it be nice if you could get hold of them instantly and tell them that your widgets are on sale next week?
- I can’t afford it right now.
To this, all I can say is… QUIT! Seriously, if you can’t afford an auto responder monthly fee then you shouldn’t be in business. When you can figure out how to carve $9.95 a month out of your budget, then come back. Until then, you are wasting your time and I can almost guarantee that you are failing. At the very least, this is only a hobby to you or you don’t care that you could multiply your success by at least a factor of 6.
Now, smack yourself on the forehead and go pay for an auto responder already.
